this is not the real me

Beauty does not own itself.
—J.M. Coetzee

a fashionista smoking outside of Publix

stands undiscovered
outside of the grocery
jean-jacket collar popped
with fat, round sunglasses juxta-
posing skinny
jean penis bulge

waiting for Fashion to impress
itself upon each passing grocery mother
past retina socket brain nerve and blood, into

        (I Am imposing)

        Consequently,
        James Dean Cigarettes,
that aren’t smoked by James Dean,
        that aren’t smoked at all,
        watered the eyes of suburbia.

a lemon wedge stuck among melting cubes

at the bottom of a cup as if
it was itself

frozen; sweat
secreting
sexually through plastic
smearing
    wet pages
    of ink

I can no longer read Shit!

on a sidewalk in LA there is

a fat dog eating Iams adjoined

a bandana-man

with a hairy grin

and baggy blue jeans

this poem is that man

one of them is dead

disembodied

a glass vase sits
on a wooden table

its curvature, thick middle
narrower base
flowering brim

You cannot see it as I
but it’s reflecting the other side

i am working on a collection of poems and short fiction on masculinity. this is the first first draft i have written. i am excited about this project. be expecting more poems and some fiction, i will be posting on here for feedback.

in case you forgot, i still write poetry

my body is a
melody pulses
pump pump pumping
my veins motion
is eternal

like the Being
    in motion
    dipping into another
    climax of the beat building
to the oscillation of a slow dubstep drop
dip low Plato—
let the beat wrap
into you the comfort of sleep
eyes closed and
spherical motions winding
gossamer wobbles
with air

—birth death rebirth death—

You aligning harmonies with the
    melodies of my body
    pulse me to sleep

one of my favorite albums of all time. rightly so, as it is, i would submit, one of the best of all time
